3327 Benton St — $498,500.  Listed 3/14/09 (Isaac Malek of Intero Real Estate Services represents the Seller) SOLD $485k, 7/17/2009 – 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms– 1536sf living space on a 1963sf lot– Townhouse with 5 Skylites, Remodeled Kitchen/Baths. Mark's Preview Notes: I have always liked the Benton / Pomeroy townhomes.  This unit has an updated kitchen with granite tiles, but the older bathrooms could also use an update.  The dual patios (front and back) on these units and the design where no neighbors are looking into your space have always made these Eichler townhomes a comfortable place to call home.

Sold: 796 Raimundo Way, Stanford

796 Raimundo Way — $1,545,000.  Listed 3/13/09 (Lynne Mercer of Coldwell Banker-PA Downtown represents the Seller)  Sold for $1,500,000,  COE 6/12/2009 – 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms– 2742sf living space on a 14976sf lot– Custom atrium mode, 2 fireplaces, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths in one wing plus guest or au pair suite off family room. Large bonus room with separate entry. Available to qualified Stanford faculty/staff only. Mark's Preview Notes: This is my first review for a Stanford Eicher.  I have to admit that my expectations were somewhat high — after all this is Standord — but this particular home didn’t deliver on my expectations.  All the Eichler appointments are found here — globe lights, wood paneling, tongue and groove ceiling, and lovely grounds.  This home has updated granite counters and the blue slate in the atrium, also carried into the fireplace, is a very nice touch.  Stanford Eichlers are only available to faculty and staff, and unless I’m mistaken, each property is still on leased land of Stanford University.

Withdrawn: 936 Olympus Ct, Sunnyvale

936 Olympus Ct — $1,388,000. Listed 3/11/2009 (Nil Erdal of Coldwell Banker represents the Seller) Withdrawn – 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms– 2308sf living space on a 8132sf lot– Atrium Model, Double-Peak Roof, Gourmet Kitchen with Stainless Appliances Mark's Preview Notes:  I have mixed emotions about this home.  The owner purchased the Eichler only late last summer and when I previewed it then, it was fairly outdated and brought to market in a very clean fashion.  The new owner completely remodeled the kitchen, both bathrooms, and reset the floors with contoured self-leveling cement.  They chose high-end grohe and hansgrohe fixtures and vanities using an exposed laminated wood material for an impressive effect.  I am particularly interested in the textured tiles used in the hall bathroom they are very hard for me to describe and deserve a closer look if you are considering work on your own Eichler.  The list price after adding remodeling and transaction costs doesn't seem to provide a much profit so my heart goes out to them for the money they spent on this remodel.  The new owner is getting quite a special home.
